Old Forest - Loose Incense (Mugwort, Sage, Yarrow & Pine Resin)

A loose blend for the deep wood. Mugwort, sage, yarrow, and pine resin, the herbs of the hedge-witch and the path that leaves the road behind. Named for the old forest because that's where it points: the wild edge, the dreaming dark, the green places that were never tamed.

Mugwort lends a soft, sagey, dreaming smoke long tied to divination and the threshold of sleep; sage carries the clean cut of cleansing smoke; yarrow brings a dry, bitter-green herbal note bound up with warding and old healing craft; and pine resin melts through it all with a deep, sweet, forest-floor warmth. Together they burn wild and green, more woodland floor than perfume.

Loose incense is meant to be worked, not just lit. A small pinch on a lit charcoal disc, in a heatproof dish or censer, releasing smoke you can direct where it's wanted.
